Mental health is a key aspect in growth as an athlete and a man. I struggled a lot during my first two years at Kentucky. I failed many times causing myself to overthink and be challenged mentally. This affected my life such as academics, social, and athletics. However, over time I grew and started to accept my failures and learn from them rather then to dwell on them. The pressure that I embrace is hard and if it were easy, everybody could do it. Today, I use these mistakes as teaching points and reminders for myself. Mental health is everything for an athlete especially for me in my current position as a Kicker. It is tough to forget about the hard times and misses but it fuels me to become stronger and more determined.
